Lior Added to WOMADelaide 2014 Lineup

LiorWOMADelaide today announced the final addition to an already extraordinary 2014 lineup – ARIA award winning singer-songwriter, Lior, who will perform in Botanic Park on Sunday 9 March.

Fresh from his Compassion national tour with Nigel Westlake and symphony orchestras, Lior will take to the WOMADelaide stage for the first time since 2007 to perform songs from his new album, Scattered Reflections (being released 7 March), as well as classics from his three previous albums.

“We’re thrilled to have Lior returning to the festival to round out what promises to be one of the most exciting programs we have been able to present”, said Director, Ian Scobie.

Born in Israel, Lior moved with his family to Sydney when he was 10 years old, and became active as a performer in 2004. With the release of his acclaimed and 2005 self- released debut album Autumn Flow, Lior’s reputation soared, and has been sustained through subsequent albums Corner of an Endless Road (2008) and Tumbling into the Dawn (2010).

“I can’t wait to share my new music with the always amazing WOMADelaide crowd”, Lior said of playing his new material for the first time.

Scattered Reflections is a collection of songs written largely throughout his travels over the past few years and includes the kind of acoustic gems he has become known for. For the album, Lior sought inspiration from a diverse array of places, from India to France.

Despite becoming one of Australia’s most acclaimed and popular musicians, Lior has remained fiercely independent. His new album has been financed primarily by crowdfunding, with part proceeds directed to the United Children’s Fund in aid of its global vaccination program.

Along with his WOMADelaide performance, Lior will be touring Australia with the ‘Scattered Reflections 2014 Tour’ from late February to early April 2014.
