Since 2017, Mad.Good Café has been delighting the brunch lovers and coffee fanatics of Highgate and beyond, offering a relaxed, fun environment with an emphasis on family and great food.
With an indoor/outdoor interior vibe, Mad.Good is the ideal destination for any serious plant lovers, with cascades of greenery in every corner, and colourful murals of retro art splashed across the walls.
The café actually has unusual beginnings, the first venue from Director Asa Donehue and his family, who starred on a reality Cooking Show in 2015, Restaurant Revolution.
Building, designing and painting the entire café and its decor, Director Asa has been at the helm since the very beginning, giving the venue its quirky, comfy and playful vibe.
Using his hospitality experience from venues across Australia including Hamilton Island’s Yacht Club and Adelaide’s own Electra House, Director and Chef Asa set out to create a family orientated venue, the perfect hang out for a relaxed brunch or breaky with food that doesn’t disappoint.
One of the most popular items on Mad.Good’s delicious menu is their plentiful Eggs Benedict range, offering a multitude of options on the brunch classic including Barossa Valley ham for a local twist.
For those looking for a healthier option the talented culinary team at Mad.Good have also created a real crowd-pleaser: the Buddha Bowl. Piled high with roasted pumpkin, charred kale, and chickpeas, the bowl of goodness is drizzled with a delicious ponzu dressing.
If you’re looking for something sweet, customers won’t be disappointed with the buttermilk stack choc chip pancakes, scattered with fresh strawberries and a dollop of Nutella.
With a brand new outdoor area constructed following last year’s lockdown, the Highgate venue is the perfect spot for spacious dining in light of the new COVID restrictions. The outdoor area features a deck and pergola for a pet-friendly area to enjoy the fresh air breeze and winter sunshine, or as a quiet break from the hustle and bustle of the indoor section’s open kitchen.
