Unley Road modern Asian eatery and cocktail bar, Mama Tz, is serving up a delicious offering that has our mouths watering.
Drool over a creamy serving of ice cream wrapped inside a fluffy deep-fried pastry parcel, served with a cloud of Persian fairy floss, homemade salted caramel, vanilla crumble and fresh strawberries.
Known as Mama’s Ka-Rem, the dish is a superb balance of saltiness and sweetness that’ll have you asking for more.
Of course, Mama’s Ka-Rem goes perfectly with one of Mama Tz delightfully refined cocktails. We recommend the Little Miss Figgy, which features Adelaide Hills Pot & Still Fig Gin.
These wicked creations come from the owners of Mama Tz, Tia Pham and Hai Nguyen. The husband and wife duo opened the eatery in November of 2019. Unfortunately, the business was hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic but is now back in full operation.
The team recently announced that as of 25 July, the restaurant will open on Saturdays for lunch, from 11:30am to 3:00pm.
Tia and Hai’s passion for food is evident in the elaborate and authentic menu at Mama Tz.
For those in favour of savoury, try the eatery’s signature lunch dish, Bo Ne, a famous Vietnamese dish of juicy marinated steak, sunny-side-up eggs served hot and fresh on a sizzling plate. The dish comes with a side of Banh Mi to soak up all of the delectable sauce.
Mama Tz also offer a brilliant selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes for those with dietaries.
While you’re there, why not go all out and try the ‘Feed Me, Mama!’ tasting menu for $49 per person, or $59 per person with dessert included.
The interior is as bold and bright as the food, with the room lit yellow and pink thanks to the bright neon feature walls.
There’s also a fully enclosed courtyard shimmering with fairy lights, hidden amongst the leafy canopy.
Mama Tz offers takeaway, delivery, catering, and can also be booked out for private functions.
