Port Willy Kiosk launches summer event series with ‘Fleurieu Gin Night’

Sample the wares of the South’s newest distiller while taking in the stunning views of Port Willunga at the first of Port Willy’s Kiosk summer events.

In need of a change to your average Sunday arvo? Head on down to the Port Willunga Kiosk for a cruisy gin night coming up this month.

Located next to the Star of Greece, atop the cliffs of beautiful Port Willunga, the Port Willy Kiosk is partnering with new(ish) local distiller, Fleurieu Gin, where kiosk manager Erin Rogers hopes to provide a “funky and awesome” gin night!

The evening will offer groovy tunes, the Kiosk’s delicious standard menu and of course will feature locally made Fleurieu Gin, created by Shane Maygor.

Started just over a year ago, Fleurieu Gin is an up-and-coming name on the distiller scene down South with Shane having big plans in the works. Its range of four spirits has already received accolades which have those in the know excited for the proposed cellar door that is currently before the council and hopes to be approved in the not-to-distant future.

The ‘Fleurieu Gin Night’ will give guests a chance to get a taste of its drops including the Juniper Bloom, which won Silver in the Tasting Australia Spirit Awards 2022, alongside the classic Fleurieu Gin which won Bronze. Other Gins featured on the night include the American Oak and Pepper Berry Blue.

The Kiosk has decided to promote the Myponga-based Gin distillery as a part of their first event to kick off the start of summer.

The outdoor bar will be serving not only Fleurieu Gin but also the Kiosk’s own range of standard wines, beers and spirits at the counter.

Keeping it local is one of the kiosk’s main ambitions, and its fresh and classic food menu reflects this.

On the night, expect the Kiosk to deliver fresh squid sourced from Kangaroo Island or Myponga, an Aussie favourite of battered butterfish and chips, and the Kiosk’s “best-selling” halloumi brioche rolls.

Erin says this is just the beginning to the Kiosk’s list of summer events, where most Sunday evenings throughout December and January there will be a DJ alongside delicious food and drinks.

Whether you’re a gin fanatic, a local down at Port Willy, or simply looking to spice up your Sunday, the Port Willunga Kiosk Fleurieu Gin Night promises an exciting event supporting local business.

When: Sunday November 20th from 3:30pm
