The South Australia Scooter Rally is set to hit the streets of Goolwa this February, promising a full weekend of leisurely riding and shared camaraderie. Starting in O’Halloran Hill on Friday 6 February, scooter enthusiasts will gather for lunch at the Victoria Hotel at 11.30am before cruising down to Goolwa for the main event on Saturday. There, riders and visitors alike can expect a night packed with live entertainment, tasty treats and laid-back seaside vibes.
Now in its fourth year, the rally is expected to showcase more than one hundred scooters and is all about having fun, sharing a mutual love of the machines, and riding with the breeze against your cheek alongside like-minded people who simply want to have a good time.
Across the weekend, a wide variety of scooters, from vintage classics to modern rides, will take to the road for a scenic joy ride along the coast.
The party officially kicks off at 6pm on Saturday evening at the Goolwa Yacht Club, with live bands Fluorescent Adolescents and House of Ska set to get the crowd moving with high-energy beats and dance-ready tunes. This year’s event is shaping up to be the biggest yet.
Once you’ve worked up an appetite on the dance floor, traditional English fare will be on site to satisfy hungry rally-goers, including fish and chips, pie floaters, and sweet, decadent bread and butter pudding. A solid selection of drinks will also be available, keeping the good times rolling as the sun sets and the music carries on into the night.
For those with a competitive streak, trophies – and serious bragging rights! – will be up for grabs, with awards including ‘Best Vintage Lambretta’ and ‘furthest travelled’.
