Salt Yoga session lands at McLaren Vale’s Varney Wines with yoga, wine and cheese boards

There’s no need to be ‘good’ at yoga to be part of the Stretch and Sip sessions at Varney Wines.

Come for the yoga, stay for the wine at the Salt Yoga and Varney Wines collaboration of our dreams.

Enjoy a 60-minute yoga session on the lush, shaded lawns at Varney Wines, surrounded by rolling hills and the gentle soundtrack of nothing but the local birds. You better get in quick as next weekend will be the very last instalment of their Stretch and Sip series, which took place over the summer.

“This experience feels more like a mini-retreat than a typical drop in class,” said Salt Yoga owner, Katie Pietsch. “Our guests are able to enjoy the benefits of yoga, reset their nervous system and feel a little more open while the connect with like minded people.”

The practice is grounding, spacious and designed to release tension, helping you reset both mind and body. The session finishes with a crystal bowl sound bath, allowing guests to fully unwind and soak in the peaceful surroundings.

“It’s warm and welcoming with zero pressure,” Katie said. “There’s no need to have be ‘good’ at yoga or know any, it’s just about showing up for a shared experience.”

The real star of the show is the complimentary glass of Varney Wines and the cheese board platter that come after the class, for that added relaxation.

“The owners, Alan and Kathrin Varney, serve us wine to enjoy with local cheeseboards while we sit, connect and take in the beautiful surrounds,” Katie said.

If you miss out, fear not as we’ve heard that the series might be back for another summer next season.
