SeaLink Carols by Candlelight set to dazzle with star-studded lineup this December

The event, one of South Australia’s major Christmas concerts, promises an evening filled with music, joy, and community spirit.

Adelaide’s Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama is set to light up with festive spirit as the 79th SeaLink Carols by Candlelight returns on Saturday, 9 December 2023. The event, one of South Australia’s major Christmas concerts, promises an evening filled with music, joy, and community spirit.

This year, 7NEWS Adelaide’s Rosanna Mangiarelli, Will Goodings, and Amelia Mulcahy will grace the stage as hosts. Notably, 2023 marks Rosanna’s 19th year hosting the event.

“Hosting our state’s longest-running Christmas concert for nearly two decades has been a heartwarming journey. Every season is special, and this year promises a phenomenal lineup of both local and national artists,” said Rosanna.

Making her debut at the Adelaide Carols is the renowned Casey Donovan, who will be joined by a star-studded lineup including Beccy Cole, Amber Lawrence, Gospo Collective, Matt Evans, Paulini, Rachael Beck, and talents from the State Opera of South Australia. Casey shared her excitement, stating, “Performing Christmas carols is always a delight, and I’m thrilled to join the Adelaide community in this festive celebration for the first time.”

The event invites families to immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere at Elder Park/Tarntanya Wama, starting from 2.00pm. Attendees can enjoy interactive games, activities, and a variety of food stalls. The City of Adelaide’s pre-show concert will kick off at 5.00 pm, leading up to the main Carols by Candlelight concert at 8.15 pm.

SeaLink, the naming rights sponsor, expressed their enthusiasm for supporting this cherished South Australian tradition. Donna Gauci, SeaLink Marine & Tourism CEO, remarked, “Carols is a beacon of the festive season, and we’re delighted to support this event and the vital work of St John SA.”

St John Ambulance Australia SA Ltd, which has been the custodian of the Carols since 2022, emphasized the importance of community support. CEO Mark Groote said, “The continued backing from sponsors and the community helps further the lifesaving mission of St John Ambulance in South Australia.”

For those unable to attend in person, the magic of the SeaLink Carols by Candlelight will be broadcast on Channel 7.
