South Australian spirits maker dominates world stage with triple international win

Adelaide’s Prohibition Liquor Co. has taken out four major international awards including a third consecutive World’s Best Coffee Liqueur title at the 2026 World Drinks Awards in London.

Adelaide’s Prohibition Liquor Co. has once again been recognised among the world’s best, taking home four major international honours, including World’s Best Coffee Liqueur for the third consecutive year.

At the 2026 World Drinks Awards in London, Prohibition’s Coffee Liqueur was named World’s Best Coffee Liqueur, while its Hazelnut & Macadamia Liqueur retained its title as World’s Best Nut Liqueur for a second year running.

The distillery was also recognised at the prestigious Icons of Gin Awards, earning its third Icons honour in as many years, alongside a Gold Design Award for its new bottle range.

The latest accolades add to a growing trophy cabinet that now includes more than 300 international awards.

Prohibition Founder Adam Carpenter said, “Retaining the title of World’s Best Nut Liqueur for a second consecutive year further demonstrates the quality and consistency of our products, while the Gold Design Award for our new Bottle range is recognition of the creativity, innovation and customer experiences that have become synonymous with the Prohibition brand.

“These awards belong to our entire team. From product development and distilling through to hospitality, events and marketing, every part of the business contributes to creating something special for our customers.

The global recognition comes as the South Australian distillery continues to welcome customers to its newly reimagined Seppeltsfield Distillery.

Held within the historic grounds of Seppeltsfield Estate, the restored 1877 distillery has been transformed into a modern gin destination inside one of the Barossa’s most significant heritage buildings.

The space has been designed as an immersive spirits experience. Visitors are encouraged to engage with the craft behind each pour, with staff guiding guests through botanical profiles, production techniques and the stories behind Prohibition’s globally recognised spirits.

Outside, the distillery leans into a relaxed Barossa lifestyle offering, with lawn seating, oversized bean bags, grazing plates, cheeseboards and board games creating a casual setting for long afternoons in the vineyard surrounds.

If you’re keen to head down and explore the new space, there’s no better time than World Gin Day on June 13th. Running from 11am to 5pm, the celebration invites guests to explore Prohibition’s award-winning range through curated gin flights, $12 G&Ts and a rotating selection of cocktails, all served within the distillery’s atmospheric tasting rooms and expansive lawn areas.

On World Gin Day, attendees can make the most of it by picking up a Gin Passport at Prohibition, grabbing a stamp with their gin and visiting a selection of neighbouring Barossa Distilleries to collect their stamps for a chance to score some special offers and prizes.

For those planning a Barossa day out, the distillery sits among some of the region’s most popular destinations, including FINO Seppeltsfield, JamFactory and Vasse Virgin.

Outside of World Gin Day, the venue is also taking bookings for weddings, private events and corporate functions, with tailored experiences including gin masterclasses, cocktail sessions and curated tasting packages available for group bookings.

So if you’re looking to enjoy the very best of the South Australian distilling scene, there’s no better place than Prohibition Seppeltsfield Distillery.
