It started with a simple mission. To love people. To grow a community where everyone is welcome and where like-minded people can come together. And that’s exactly what Mount Barker’s newest resident has done.
Created by Pastors Jake and Holly Toogood, Sunday Co opened its doors as a youth church in March of this year and has now expanded to include its very own café.
Initially serving cups of joe from a pop-up coffee cart, the pair signed a contract not long after opening to secure a permanent space and, after months of perfecting, they have finally opened the additional component to the already thriving hub.
Open from Tuesday – Saturday, Sunday Coffee will be serving up specialty, B3 coffee that is sourced from Blackwood alongside a selection of fresh, cold-pressed juices and a small, but very delicious range of in-house eats and pastries.
The need for a bigger, more permanent space became apparent as the small van gained popularity. Going from a weekend-only affair, the pair then increased the hours of the coffee van to meet mid-week demand which has ultimately resulted in Sunday Coffee as we see it today.
Holding a service each Sunday at their modern space in Mount Barker, Sunday Co also offers a mid-week service on a Wednesday evening for those who can’t make it over the weekend. The coffee store, however, will be open from 7am to all whether you be a church-goer or not. The Toogood’s vision for their newest venture is to create a welcoming environment for all to connect with others and get some good, local coffee while they’re at it.
Sunday Coffee is open Tuesday – Saturday 7am – 3pm
