From Broadway to La Scala began life as one series of concerts with David Hobson and Teddy Tahu Rhodes. It has since morphed into a brand. It’s a simple and incredibly successful format: a group of (mostly) classical singers, put on a concert of works from both opera and musicals.
Beloved Australian tenor David Hobson is returning to Adelaide in the new production of From Broadway to La Scala. Hobson caught up with Glam for a chat about the show, and all things musical theatre.
The latest production by the State Opera of South Australia is a magical concoction of song, dance and colour. Written by Hungarian composer Franz Lehar in 1905 The Merry Widow has enjoyed popularity right up to today.
