Tame Impala, Gypsy & The Cat And Flight Facilities Added to Future Music Festival Line Up

Tame Impala

THREE OF A KIND … FUTURE MUSIC FESTIVAL WINS!
TAME IMPALA, GYPSY & THE CAT AND FLIGHT FACILITIES ADDED TO THE BILL

With a little over a month to go before the award-winning Future Music Festival hits the jackpot and throws down straight aces in major cities around the nation, Future Entertainment is pleased to announce that the already epic line-up of stellar artists, DJs and bands just got even bigger …

Already boasting a blinding neon bill comprising the lofty likes of the Chemical Brothers, Dizzee Rascal, MGMT, Mark Ronson, Pendulum, The Presets, Steve Aoki, Richie Hawtin and Steve Angello, a prodigious trio of heavy-hitting homegrown stars – Tame Impala, Flight Facilities and Gypsy & The Cat – are now joining the party!

50% rock, 50% psychadelia and 100% awesome, Perth’s Tame Impala are having a blast as they steadily groove all the way to the top. Featuring the sublime talents of Kevin Parker, Dominic Simper, Jay Watson and Nick Allbrook, this dreamy quartet have captured the imagination of fans far and wide via a string of smoking hot tunes – including the likes of Sundown Syndrome,Remember Me, Lucidity, Expectation and Solitude Is Bliss (which took out the #33 spot in 2010’s Triple J Hottest 100 poll).

To top it off, Tame Impala’s recent debut album Inner Speaker on the taste-making Modular label was only named Triple J’s Album of the Year for 2010, but received the same honours from Australia’s biggest music magazine, Rolling Stone. With a slot booked at the legendary Coachella festival in California in 2011, this awesome foursome is set to go large …

Meanwhile, fresh out of Melbourne, Gypsy & The Cat are on a meteoric rise through the musical ranks of their own, having recently been acclaimed by the lofty likes of international music media titans in The Times, Guardian and NME. Comprising the talents of young Lionel Towers and Xavier Bacash, this piping hot duo’s unique and inspired take on summertime Electro-Pop has already caught the attention of production icon Mark Ronson and seen them leave hordes of fans at Splendour In The Grass awestruck.

Responsible for celebrated tunes like Jona Vark, Pipers Song and Time To Wander (which placed #64, #71 and #73 respectively in 2010’s Triple J Hottest 100), booked to rock Coachella festival in 2011, and hailed as the next big thing since Empire Of The Sun, Gypsy & The Cat are a musical force to be reckoned with.

And last but certainly not least, there’s something mysterious going on here … highly skilled, always up for a party and 100%anonymous, Flight Facilities are no ordinary DJ duo. After hitting the festival circuit and touring Europe and Japan, this pair of incognito merry musical pranksters capped off their breakout year with a well-deserved SMAC Award nod for Best Song of 2010and a finish inside the top 20 tracks on Australia’s biggest radio poll; Triple Js Hottest 100 2010 for Crave You.

Signed to the all-conquering Bang Gang 12”s imprint, they’ve seen praise from far and wide, including celebrity blogger Perez Hilton! Firing on all cylinders, Flight Facilities are taxiing on the runway and cross-checking their doors to fly even closer to the sun in 2011.

Perth’s Tame Impala, Melbourne’s Gypsy & The Cat, and Sydney’s Flight Facilities …

Now that’s a winning three of a kind!
