Working together with Ba Futuru, a non-profit development organisation based in Timor- Leste that addresses the inter-communal violence that has plagued the country, the Oaktree Foundation hope to assist in ending extreme poverty in East Timor.
Do more for Timor will be held on August 25 at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel.
Entry to this event is only $10 at the door, and doors open at 7.30pm.
The lineup consists of four excellent local bands – Babylon Burning, Bearded Gypsy Band, Pimpin Horus, and the Underwater Adventure Series – all bringing their own styles of funk, rock, reggae, and swing to all who attend.
Poverty in Timor-Leste has resulted in terrible violence throughout communities, especially against woman and children. The Ba Futuru organisation aims to educate those who wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity, and to promote national child protection and peace throughout the country. So what better way to get the word out about such an amazing cause than with the aid of live music!
Donation tins will be available at the door and will be passed around throughout the night so that any spare change can be given to help eradicate poverty in Timor-Leste.
