Welcome to another wonderful year of Wine Machine! The Best. Chardy. Ever. If the first Wine Machine tour was a standard pour, this year they’re filling it up to the brim (and if you thought last year’s puns were weak, wait ‘til you hear how pour this year’s ones are).
Wine Machine is a full-bodied day of wine, food and live music, showcasing both the splendour of our nation’s most picturesque wine regions and the spectacular music artists borne from Australian soil. More regions announced soon, but for now, to start the next round of chardy-ing, we will go back to where it all began…. to the McLaren Vale, in SA, where the very first Wine Machine was uncorked at the end of 2016. This one is for all the People…. legends of Australian electronica, five-time ARIA award winners, and record-holders for the longest charting single in Australian history, let out a giant Yippiyo-Ay for the return of The Presets. The dream team have been full Steam…works ahead on a new album – be among the first in Oz to get a taste of it at Wine Machine. We’re Beam-ing with joy at the thought of that Presets dancefloor when we’re several Chardys deep…
Further stoking the fires of the late 2000s, as well as keeping plenty of other dancefloor heaters burning, will be your seasoned host, Hot Dub Time Machine, who will perform his own infamous, signature set – a two-hour, time-travelling dance party. In case Adelaide haven’t had a Gutful of them already, hometown heroes Bad//Dreems will bring their sweaty, energetic, visceral take on pub rock to wineland.
A well-respected authority on new music, Triple J Good Nights host and DJ queen Linda Marigliano brings a tonne of her good music taste to the Mclaren. Fresh from making best friends around Oz on his Benson Backyard tour, DJ, producer and label boss Benson will lay his bad manners and bass-driven house on the Mclaren Vale. Also on the club tip, we welcome a forerunner of the new wave of Australian electronic music, fashion-forward young Sydney producer gun Godlands.
Repping their Adelaide home turf, we have The Germein Sisters, as well as Heaps Good Friends, the indie-pop heroes who’ve lit up the jj’s and toured with The Jungle Giants. Finally, the innominate, yet always dependable hypemen, the Falcona DJs will step up to raise the party temperature several notches.
