The 2024 Santos Tour Down Under (TDU) has officially kicked off! This means 10 days of not just cycling races; but lunches, free community get-togethers, activities for all-ages and more.
The FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village is also back in a big way, with plenty of places to chill out, stalls to explore, activities for the kids, food & drinks to try right in the centre of the city in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.
We’ve created a guide for what’s on this week and beyond to get involved in. We’ve wrapped up the 2024 cycling stages, everything that’s on this year at the Tour Village and different events at wineries and more to up-scale your TDU experience.

In 2024, the Santos Tour Down Under stages will challenge the peloton as they race around South Australia and deliver plenty of excitement for fans. Here’s the stages still to go:

FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village

The FREE Santos Tour Down Under City of Adelaide Tour Village is back in a big way, with plenty of places to chill out, stalls to explore, activities for the kids, food & drinks to try – and even some brand-new features. Check out everything you need to know about the City of Adelaide Tour Village, which is open every day until Sunday 21st, right in the centre of the city in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga.
FOR THE KIDS:
Santos Activity Hub has Colouring for the kids, pipe cleaner bike making station, and even a couple of bikes to ride – the Santos Activity Hub is a great chill out area! Or head next door to the Kids Painting Wall & Zone, for free activities to keep the kids busy over school holidays! They can write a letter to a pro with the Singapore Airlines Peloton Post, or let the kids grab a paint brush and help to finish the big mural painting! The Kids Zone is packed full of fun and interactive activities to keep everyone interested across the ten days of the event.
FOR THE CYCLIST:
Enjoy Talking Tour daily on the Main Stage in the village – engaging live panel chats hosted by veteran broadcaster and cycling expert, Matt Keenan, and featuring expert cycling commentary, ex-pro cyclist guests and a rundown on excitement from within the pack.
The TDU Bike Expo is the biggest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere, and you can get your merchandise, lots of big brand apparel, and bike accessories galore – sunglasses, helmets, tech and wearables! If it’s nutrition, hydration, and recovery that you’re after – they’ve got plenty of that too. And – of course – bikes! With rows of stallholders both inside the airconditioned tent, and outside lining the streets – you can take your pick or stroll the whole lot! The outside expo is open from 11:00am – 7:00pm, and inside Expo from 2:00pm – 7:00pm.
FOR THE VIBES:
The Health Partners Recovery Zone is brand new to the City of Adelaide Tour Village this year – the fastest way to rest, recover and recuperate after exploring Adelaide’s regions by bike, or whatever workout you’ve been doing! Choose from a 15min recovery massage by Sportsmed aimed to improve muscle recovery and reduce pain, an IceBath in an Odin Ice Bath, or 15 mins in the Cryotherapy boots by Breathe – only $10 a session! All sessions can be booked online.
Fancy a photo on the podium to share with your friends? Jump up onto the Selfie Podium and feel the rush of being the champion!
This part of the Village is open at 6.30am, for good reason – you can ensure your caffeine levels are topped up throughout the Santos Tour Down Under with coffee from the Grinders on Tour Café!
And if its more of a cool drink you’re after – there’s a South Australian smorgasbord in the TDU bars! Grab a Seppeltsfield wine or a 23rd St Gin on offer in the Garden Bar, and in the Hahn Beer Garden you’ll find beer, ginger beer and seltzer, while enjoying the atmosphere of the village.
Come for a drink and stay for dinner, grab a traditional woodfire pizza or some fresh pasta,
Burgers, nachos and loaded fries with Adelaide’s biggest Yoder smoker – or even some gourmet Vietnamese street food.

Events to celebrate Santos Tour Down Under
Saltram Wines Santos Tour Down Under Barossa Feast Lunch | Tuesday 16th

Spend the afternoon watching the Santos Tour Down Under peloton as they pass Saltram Wine Estate three times as part of Ziptrak® Men’s Stage 1.
Watch from the picturesque Saltram gardens overlooking Angaston Road. Pedal Party | Tuesday 16th

Seppeltsfield Road Distillers, in collaboration with Two Hands Wines, have the best seats in the region to catch all the action of Santos Tour Down Under Ziptrak® Men’s Stage 1 of the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under.
With elevated viewing, activities for the whole family including ‘bike and blend’ mocktails and an epic gin and wine drinks list, it’s the ideal place to watch the race as it rushes past three times. Spend the duration of the race on the iconic Seppeltsfield Road, relaxing on the deck or lawn and enjoying the chilled atmosphere with G&Ts, cocktails, mocktails, Two Hands Wines by the glass, a special TDU Barossa Shiraz Gin Spritz (featuring Two Hands Lucky Duck Sparkling) and light nibbles.

Tour De Greenock | Tuesday 16th

A community event, showcasing the small town of Greenock on the western ranges of the Barossa Valley.
With a French theme and a chance to watch the Santos Tour Down Under as the race laps through the town three times through out the day. There will be Children’s activities, food and live music, bring you picnic blanket and relax by the Greenock Creek Marsh Walk.

Race from the Rooftop at Kimbolton Wines | Friday 19th

Watch the Santos Tour Down Under Hahn Men’s Stage 4 from the exclusive Kimbolton Rooftop. Enjoy a glass of Kimbolton wine and keep the glass as a memento of the day. Sit back and relax from this scenic spot and watch the peloton of the Santos Tour Down Under pass through across the vineyards.
Kimbolton caters for wheelchairs and mobility scooters – a dedicated area is also available for guests to watch this leg of the stage on the front deck.

Peninsula Providore Santos Tour Down Under Picnic | Friday 19th

The Peninsula Providore is hosting a Santos Tour Down Under Picnic nestled among the picturesque Nangkita Olive Grove. With the Santos Tour Down Under Hahn Men’s Stage 4 heading straight past the gate, you will be in prime position to capture the excitement of the race.
As you stroll through the olive groves, you’ll be treated to a serene setting with breathtaking views of the South Australian countryside. Discover the art of olive farming, experience the process of creating exquisite olive oils, and sample an array of gourmet products produced right on the Peninsula Providore estate.
This event will feature a long table lunch and regional produce hampers, with locally sourced, delectable treats. From artisan cheeses to fresh-baked bread, and, of course, an assortment of Peninsula Providore’s award-winning olive oils, you’ll have the opportunity to savour the flavours of the broader Fleurieu region, accompanied by wines from local producer, Precious Little Wines.

Stirling Hotel Tour Down Under Block Party and lunch | Sunday 21st

To commemorate and celebrate the 2024 Santos Tour Down Under, the popular Adelaide Hills dining and drinking spot, The Stirling Hotel, is hosting its first-ever Block Party, happening this Sunday, the 21st of January to align with the men’s race.
The Tour Down Under Block Party is a free, ticketed, family-friendly event, inviting everyone to come and enjoy the festivities and, of course, the delicious food and bevvies on offer. Also if you want to take the Tour Down Under celebrations up a notch this year, why not book one of The Stirling Hotel’s exclusive lunches happening on both event days?

Barrel wine Bars Fever – Tree Gin & Tonic Summer Garden | Sunday 21st

Get roadside and book a table at Barrel Wine Bar for the Santos Tour Down Under. Enjoy prime viewing in the comfort of Barrel’s Fever-Tree summer garden as both the men’s’ and women’s stages race through the picturesque and leafy village of Stirling.
Ticket price includes trackside viewing and a Fever-Tree Tonic & Gin on arrival, watching the Women’s Stage 2 peloton speed past twice. Alternatively come and enjoy the finale of the Santos Tour Down Under with the Schwalbe Men’s Stage 6 making three pass-throughs of Stirling village.
