Adelaide weather forecast for Thursday June 25 and the days ahead

Adelaide is set for a run of chilly, mostly settled winter days before cloud, showers and stronger winds build early next week.

Adelaide is in for a calm but chilly run of winter weather, with mostly sunny days through the end of the week before cloud, showers and stronger winds begin to build early next week.

For the rest of Thursday, Adelaide is expected to stay mostly sunny, with just a slight chance of morning fog and a top of 17 degrees in the city. Light winds will keep things fairly settled, and suburbs across the metro area will sit in a similar range, from 15 degrees at Mount Barker to 17 at Elizabeth and Noarlunga. Friday follows a very similar pattern, with another cold start, the chance of morning fog, and a mostly sunny afternoon. The city is forecast to dip to 7 degrees overnight before reaching 16 degrees during the day.

That quiet winter pattern continues into Saturday, with partly cloudy skies, another possible foggy start and light winds turning east to northeasterly at 15 to 20 km/h during the morning. Adelaide is again heading for a minimum of 7 and a maximum of 16, so it will feel crisp first thing before settling into a cool afternoon.

Sunday then marks the start of a shift, with cloud increasing across the city and a slight chance of a shower. Northeasterly winds at 15 to 25 km/h will make it feel a little more changeable, while temperatures lift only slightly to between 10 and 17 degrees.

Early next week looks notably wetter. Monday is forecast to be partly cloudy with a high chance of showers, most likely later in the day, as north to northeasterly winds continue. Adelaide’s temperatures are expected to range from 11 to 17 degrees, with up to 4 mm possible.

Tuesday brings much the same story, with a high chance of showers, northerly winds strengthening to 15 to 25 km/h, and another 17-degree maximum.

By Wednesday, the wettest day of the stretch is likely to arrive, with a very high chance of showers, possible rainfall of 1 to 10 mm, and fresh northerly winds of 20 to 30 km/h. The top is forecast to ease back to 16 degrees, wrapping up a seven-day outlook that starts bright and settled before turning greyer and wetter.
