For Adelaide, Tuesday stays mostly dry and partly cloudy, but it will feel much warmer before the change arrives. The city is heading for a top of 33 degrees, with northern suburbs like Elizabeth reaching 34 degrees, before north to northeasterly winds shift south to southwesterly in the evening. It’s the kind of day that starts warm and bright, then turns cooler by nightfall. Sun protection will be important through the middle of the day, with the UV Index set to reach 7.
Wednesday brings a much calmer feel, but also more cloud and a growing chance of rain. Adelaide is forecast to reach 24 degrees after a mild overnight low of 17, with light winds and a medium chance of showers, most likely later in the day. There’s also the chance of a thunderstorm at night, so anyone with evening plans may want to keep an eye on the sky.
Thursday looks set to be the most unsettled day of the week. Showers are very likely across Adelaide, especially through the morning and afternoon, with a possible thunderstorm earlier in the day. The top drops to 21 degrees after a low of 15, and rainfall totals between 3 and 10mm are possible. Light winds will turn west to southwesterly and then southerly, reinforcing the cooler change across the metro area.
By Friday, the wet weather begins to ease, though Adelaide isn’t completely in the clear. A slight chance of a shower remains through the morning and afternoon, but conditions should be far less active than Thursday. It will be a cool day, with a low of 10 and a top of just 18 degrees, under partly cloudy skies and southerly winds tending southeasterly by evening.
The weekend looks steadier. Saturday will be partly cloudy with a crisp morning low of 8 degrees and a top of 20, while southeasterly winds keep things feeling fresh. Sunday stays partly cloudy too, with a slight chance of a shower and a slightly milder range of 11 to 21 degrees. By Monday, Adelaide should warm a little further to 23 degrees, with partly cloudy conditions and just a slight chance of a late shower as winds shift from east to northeasterly before turning west to southwesterly during the day.
Across regional South Australia, the broader pattern is more active, especially away from the metro area. Today, isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected in the far west, extending to Eyre Peninsula and near southern coasts late in the evening, while maximum temperatures climb well above average. On Wednesday, showers and storms spread across agricultural areas, the North West Pastoral and West Coast districts, becoming more frequent in the far west. Thursday brings the most widespread wet weather, with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms possible across most districts, although the far northeast is expected to stay dry. By Friday, showers contract to parts of the pastoral districts and southern agricultural areas, with cooler than average temperatures settling across much of the state. Rainfall totals by the end of Friday are expected to sit between 2 and 10mm for many districts, with local falls of 10 to 15mm likely and isolated totals of 15 to 25mm possible in parts of the far west, southern coastal districts and Eyre Peninsula, particularly where thunderstorms develop.
