Leave the driving to someone else and spend the day discovering some of the Adelaide Hills’ most inspiring artists, as this August art lovers can head on a curated bus tour through galleries, open studios and the stunning countryside, complete with artist talks and a lunch along the way.
As part of this year’s South Australian Living Artists (SALA) Festival, art lovers are invited to climb aboard the Adelaide Hills Art Bus Tour on Saturday, August 15th, for a full-day adventure showcasing some of the region’s most inspiring artists, galleries and creative spaces.
Departing from The Tower Hotel in Magill, the curated experience takes guests beyond the city and into the heart of the Adelaide Hills, for a day dedicated to local art and creativity.
The tour will be hosted by Adelaide artist Calamity Tash, who will guide guests through a carefully selected itinerary featuring some of the standout exhibitions and creative experiences on this year’s SALA program.
One of the first stops is Fabrik Arts & Heritage, where visitors will hear directly from artists while exploring one of the Hills’ best-known creative spaces.
From there, the tour heads to picturesque Nether Hill Farm for a leisurely lunch accompanied by an artist talk from Kate Brew, offering guests the chance to enjoy local food while learning more about her work and creative process.
The afternoon continues with visits to open artist studios in Balhannah, giving attendees the opportunity to meet artists in their own creative environments, explore works in progress and gain a behind-the-scenes look at the region’s thriving arts community.
The experience wraps up back at The Tower Hotel, where guests can continue the conversation over optional drinks and nibbles with fellow art lovers if they’re not quite ready for the day to end.
