ASIAFEST Gets Childish With A Special Family Fun Day

Looking for something to do on the last day of these school holidays? Why not grab the kids and take them to ASIAFEST for their special Family Fun Day!

On Friday, 9th October from 11.30am – 5.30pm, come along to the ASIAFEST 2015 Family Fun Day and enjoy a children’s program full of interactive traditional games, activities, arts, movies and entertainment for just $5 per child.

Children can journey in and out of the five Asian countries, receiving a full cultural experience, and learn about the diversity of Asian cultures including Japan, China, Vietnam, Korea and Thailand.

Featured Entertainment, activities and workshops include:

Japan: Kamishibai Storytelling, Taiko Drumming Performance and workshop, Origami Folding, Karate Demonstration and workshop, Fukuwarai, Kendama, Chop Stick Challenge and Sushi Rolling workshop.

Thailand: Con (Throwing game), Sepak-takraw Demonstration and Games (Kick ball), Edible Bug Tasting, Copter Mai (Bamboo Helicopter), Pao Nang Yang (Rubber Band Blowing Tournament).

China: Baguenaudier Puzzles, Chinese Yoyo (Diablo), Pinyin Puzzles, Traditional Chinese Paper Cutting Workshop, Chinese Knotting Workshop, Opera Mask Painting Workshop, Tai Chi and Paper Folding, Cantonese Opera Performance.

Korea: Yutnori (Board game), Paengichigi (Top spinning), Tohu (Throwing Game), Jegichagi (Hacky Sack), Dakk Saum Tournament (Chicken Leg Game), Tae Kwon Do Workshops.

Vietnam: Truyen-Truyen (Pick up Sticks), To He Edible Figurine making, Bamboo Dance Performance.

On top of all that there is amazing food in the Melting Pot Markets, kids movies at the Asian Garden Cinema and the opportunity to enjoy an authentic Vietnamese experience on the Floating Markets.
