The dream of owning a home is moving one step closer for dozens of South Australians, with land now officially on sale in Australia’s first neighbourhood created exclusively for first homebuyers.
Located within Renewal SA’s Playford Alive development in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, the new precinct will provide 400 homes designed to help first homebuyers enter the property market with more support and fewer barriers.
The latest release includes 34 blocks of land, ranging from 270 to 445 square metres, with prices starting at $250,000 and going up to $380,000.
Since the precinct was announced earlier this year, hundreds of potential buyers have registered their interest in securing a place in the new community.
The project is a joint initiative between the Albanese and Malinauskas Labor Governments, with a $50 million investment announced in the 2026–27 State Budget to accelerate infrastructure works and help deliver the target of 400 homes by the end of 2027.
Those purchasing a new build within the precinct will pay no stamp duty, following the State Government’s decision to remove the tax for first homebuyers buying newly built homes.
Eligible buyers may also be able to access $15,000 grants alongside low-deposit lending options, further reducing some of the hurdles often faced when entering the housing market.
“We are doing everything we can to make the great Australian dream of home ownership genuinely achievable for South Australian first homebuyers,” shared South Australian Minister for Housing and Urban Development Nick Champion. “Today’s release of 34 more blocks means 34 more South Australians, from single buyers to young families, can start planning the home they’ve always wanted.
“There’s nowhere else in the country where first homebuyers get a neighbourhood built just for them, and I’m proud that South Australia continues to lead the way.”
The precinct forms part of an $801.5 million agreement between the state and federal governments to deliver 6,877 homes for first homebuyers across South Australia as part of the national 100,000 Homes for First Home Buyers program.
Civil works are already underway at the site, supported by a $50 million concessional loan from the Federal Government.

Renewal SA’s Playford Alive development is already one of Australia’s largest urban renewal projects, with around 80 per cent of its land sales coming from people entering the property market.
To be eligible to purchase within the precinct, buyers must be at least 18 years old, an Australian citizen or permanent resident, a first homebuyer and intend to live in the property as an owner-occupier.
