South Australia is set to host one of the country’s most exclusive golfing experiences, with The Cliffs Kangaroo Island Classic offering a rare first look at the state’s newest golf course while raising funds for children in need.
Launching ahead of the official opening of The Cliffs Kangaroo Island in October 2026, the one-day charity event will invite just 24 teams to tee off on the spectacular 18-hole course, surrounded by Kangaroo Island’s rugged coastline, native wildlife and untouched landscapes.
Presented in support of Variety – the Children’s Charity, all proceeds from the event will help South Australian children who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disability access the equipment, services and opportunities they need to thrive.
Golfers will have two options to take part, with eight teams able to bid for the chance to have an elite sporting or entertainment personality join their group for the round.
The All Star Guest experience includes a celebrity playing partner, premium transfers, golf carts, gourmet brunch, local food and beverages, exclusive merchandise and professional photography with their guest.
16 corporate teams will also have the opportunity to experience the course with clients, colleagues or friends, including branded signage, hospitality and entry into both individual and team competitions.
Adding to the exclusivity, guests will travel from Adelaide to Kangaroo Island aboard a private Alliance Airlines charter jet, creating a luxury same-day experience.
The Cliffs Kangaroo Island is set to become one of Australia’s most talked-about golfing destinations, with the course designed by renowned golf architect Darius Oliver to showcase the island’s dramatic natural beauty.
Stretching across a landscape of sweeping fairways, coastal cliffs and native bushland, the course has been designed to challenge experienced golfers while offering stunning views from almost every hole.
The event has been made possible thanks to the generosity of Sam and Rachel Atkins, who have gifted the course for the fundraiser, as well as Tim Wright and the Alliance Airlines team, who have donated the private charter flight and crew.
The Cliffs Kangaroo Island Classic will offer a rare opportunity to be among the first golfers to experience one of Australia’s most anticipated new courses, while making a meaningful difference for South Australian children.
