One of South Australia’s favourite foodie events is back this winter, with the Fleurieu Food Festival officially returning in August.

The month-long celebration will transform the Fleurieu Peninsula into a food lover’s dream, with everything from vineyard feasts and chef-led dining experiences to farm tours, workshops, tastings and cosy long lunches.

Designed to shine a light on the region’s incredible produce, makers and hospitality scene, the festival invites visitors to eat and explore their way across one of the country’s most celebrated food and wine destinations.

Behind the event is Fleurieu Food, the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to championing the region’s food culture and connecting visitors with the passionate producers, chefs, winemakers and creatives who help shape it.

Now in its fifth year, the festival has grown into one of the Fleurieu Peninsula’s flagship winter events, drawing locals and visitors alike to embrace the cooler season with incredible food, wine and community connection. And for 2026, organisers are casting the net even wider, with expressions of interest now officially open for businesses, venues and creators wanting to be part of the curated program.

The festival program spans a huge range of experiences, including shared dining events, wine tastings, cocktail workshops, produce-focused masterclasses, orchard walks, cheese-making sessions, live music events, food truck gatherings and cultural storytelling experiences.

There’s also a strong focus on connection and authenticity, with many events designed to bring people closer to the land, the growers and the stories behind what ends up on the plate.

The Fleurieu Peninsula has long been recognised as one of South Australia’s premier food and wine regions, home to acclaimed wineries, artisan producers, coastal eateries and farm experiences. Events like the Fleurieu Food Festival continue to showcase the diversity of the region while encouraging visitors to explore beyond the city during the quieter winter months.

The full 2026 Fleurieu Food Festival program is expected to be unveiled closer to August. So if your ideal winter itinerary involves exceptional food, local wine and a road trip south, consider this your sign to start planning.
