On the heels of her celebrated debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, singer-songwriter Tracey Yarad will bring her one-woman show “All These Pretty Things” to audiences at the Adelaide Fringe in 2025. A heart-touching story of personal betrayal and emotional recovery, accompanied by soulful singing and songwriting, it received rave reviews in Edinburgh and New York.
The show, an emotive blend of storytelling and music, narrates Yarad’s tumultuous journey after her husband left her for their teenage goddaughter, channelling her pain into her music leading to healing, and ultimately, empowerment.

“I started writing these songs just to keep myself from going insane,” says Tracey, who plays both the damsel in distress and the heroine who saves the day.
“I certainly didn’t imagine that it would ever be a show. It was just my healing process.”
This process led her to create an album featuring prominent New York musicians, including guitarist Luca Benedetti, bassist Tony Scherr, violinist Zach Brock, drummer Josh Dion, and pianist/producer Jon Cowherd.
Beyond the album, Yarad has also created a book comprising illustrations and short stories that delve deeper into her experiences. The culmination of these works is the stage show, developed with the assistance of co-writer and director Tessa Souter.
Critics have praised Yarad for her raw and honest delivery. The List Magazine during the Edinburgh Fringe highlighted her “poignant stage presence and stark confessional style,” noting these elements captivate the audience powerfully. Broadway World describes the show as an exploration of “loss and abandonment, and the restorative power of music and love,” suggesting it manages to capture both heartbreaking and uplifting moments skillfully.

This blend of memoir and music approaches the universal themes of love, betrayal, and resilience in a format that allows Yarad to connect deeply with her audience.
