Fabulous fashion was the centrepiece of Sanaa Ink’s chill out evening of DJs, couture, wine and food.

Colour is often the first thing to mind when it comes to African fashion and the Feshene showcase did not disappoint. African-Australian designer Roseé presented more than 20 designs on the runway from her spring and summer collections of dresses, suits, and pants, primarily for women. Her style highlighted her use of bright bold patterns and colours. Frilled sleeves were a common theme, giving many of the outfits a sense of casual fun amongst the elegance of others.

From Nairobi, humanitarian and style-icon David Avido of Lookslike Avido showcased a collection of bold jackets, suits, and pantsuits, with a balance of couture for both men and women. His stylish, daring pieces varied between eye-catching patterns and bold splashes of floral design on jacket lapels. A lot of Avido’s profits go towards community training in his home region.

The evening was rounded out in Beags, the outdoor garden space of The Lab with DJs, food and wine, a perfect end to a warm night.

Sanaa Ink is a non-profit Adelaide collective that promotes art as a tool for social change. Their two Fringe events aim to enhance social cohesion by introducing cultural experiences through artist expression. Outside of Fringe they present workshops, exhibitions and performances through the year. Find out more from the website at https://abetterworldthroughcreativity.com
