Mentally disabled Mingo (Hansel Ramirez), is a shy pubescent boy who experiences his first sexual awakening at his religious mother’s reluctant urging, hoping to dissuade his incestuous thoughts.  However it only served to peak his curiosity and sexual desire.  Mingo takes the fancy of local widow who is determined to train him to be the perfect lover and companion.  This results in his talents becoming well known around his small Mexican village and eventually coming to the attention of his mother, who full of disgust, fears for his soul.

Directed by Jaime Ruiz Ibanez, some of the scenes are a bit over the top as the women of the village develop a ridiculously uninhibited sexual appetite.  However it is still engaging as it explores the small village lynch mob mentality seeking to supress any challenge to the status quo regardless whether truth or justice is served happy to turn a blind eye. Unfortunately the poor English translation in the accompanying subtitles is distracting and lets the film down.  The tone and performances are uneven as is the story as Mingo’s IQ and understanding and relating to his world varies considerably throughout the film, so it suffers in credibility.
