The Goodwood Road favourite will take over the adjacent building to create a larger space with the same Euro decor and community feel.

Known for its fresh and open décor and large, ever-changing array of global and locally sourced wines, Good Gilbert has become a bit of a cult favourite on the Adelaide bar scene.

The perfect spot to park up for an after-work drink and a snack, the guys at Good Gilbert are broadening their horizons with some exciting new developments.

The current interior, while stunning, is a little on the smaller side (we prefer the term intimate) but not for long. Goodwood’s little neighbourhood wine bar is expanding! Complete with an open plan kitchen and extended outdoor dining area, it’ll be the same Good Gilbert experience you know and love, just more of it and a bit more refined.

Perched on the corner of Goodwood Road and Gilbert St, you can enjoy your choice of over 140 wines or a selection of local brews while looking out over the iconic Capri Theatre.

Taking over the adjacent building where the current Cru Tapas Bar resides, the extension will keep the same Eurocentric design with the alfresco dining area really solidifying those European vibes.

With their unique flair to his cooking, head chef Sav Sexton is sure to marvel once they get inside the new, open kitchen – especially with the counter diner, they’ll be sure to impress all those watching on. At present, the menu is frequently rotated depending on what fresh, seasonal produce is available so it’s safe to say we can expect this same style to be continued.

Now with the space to do so, Good Gilbert will be available for private hire on Friday and Saturday nights making it a great option for your next function.

Set to open just in time for the warmer months, the new fit-out is scheduled for completion in Spring this year.

Stay in the know and follow the build on Good Gilbert’s website and Facebook.
