A new app, LocalShopa™ launches today, and makes it easy to discover locally-made gourmet foods and the freshest local produce to feast on and impress your guests with this Christmas.
The smart shopping list app, which is available for download free on Android and iOS, helps consumers discover and purchase locally-made products, making it perfect for gift shopping and buying those special food items over the festive season.
Shoppers can add items to the shopping list via voice input or instant text search of the extensive built-in library, easily re-list favourite items, and add and re-use custom items. The app then highlights local producers of those items, and a list of nearby retail outlets you can purchase from, all in a couple of clicks.
The app also has a ‘ToDo List’ function, which enables users to watch for local events in specific areas of interest, such as Farmers’ Markets and Food Truck gatherings, making it a breeze to find and try out great local food in your area.
Lava Software CEO and passionate foodie, Michael Wildoer, created LocalShopa to increase support for local producers, and help shoppers access what they need in a couple of clicks.
“There’s no doubt that there’s a huge trend in Aussies wanting to support their local artisan makers, and LocalShopa provides a unique and easy way for consumers to find them, and try out the products they make.”
“We want LocalShopa to become the first place to go when searching for the best drinks or cheese to perfectly complement a weekend grazing platter, or Saturday night dinner featuring the best local gourmet food,”
Featured producers this month include makers of ‘Bad Sally’ balsamic vinegar reduction, Matchett Productions, alongside The Gourmet Entertainer and Thistle Meadery.
The creators of the app expect to see more gourmet food trucks and seasonal food producers featured on LocalShopa over the coming Summer months in cities across Australia.
Download your free app today by searching for ‘LocalShopa’ in the Google Play or Apple App Store.
