This new venue is giving us a lot to taco bout!
Brand-new taco spot Beefy Birrias is opening soon in Adelaide’s North, and it’s promising “juicy, crispy birria tacos.”
Coming from the minds behind another Adelaidean beef lovers paradise, Beef Cakes and Shakes, Beefy Birrias will focus solely on beef tacos for now. While owner Jamie Wimmer is open to expanding the offerings for the future, the venue will start just with beef.
“We’re just doing traditional beef to start with because we want to perfect the product,” he says.
“I’m open to adding more options, but I want to keep it authentic.”
In two or three weeks, Beefy Birrias will launch a pop-up in their Grange sister venue, Beef Cakes and Shakes, as a test run for the tacos, offering both white and yellow corn tortillas. The standalone venue will open in Adelaide’s northern suburbs shortly thereafter, with more details to be released soon.
Wimmer has told us to expect a fun atmosphere of the Mexican-inspired venue, which is set to have a liquor licence.
“We hope to have a cocktail bar with margaritas and beers; It’s going to be a vibe,” he says.
“I’m excited to bring this to Adelaide… Adelaide deserves it.”
