2020 was a year that rocked the world, especially for the hospitality and night-life scene.
One nightclub that has seen the hardships brought on by the pandemic like no other is Sugar, which is regarded as one of Adelaide’s East End favourites, and now Sugar needs the help of the public to keep their doors open.
For nearly 20 years, Sugar has stood as the cultural hub for International Producers and DJs, Live Bands and Visual Artists and a mecca for the cities young and young at heart to experience music as the focus of operations in a safe and caring environment.
Sugar owner Driller Jet Armstrong is calling for aid, needing as much help as they can get.
“We have faced difficulties in the past, of course most recently with the existential threat of Covid19, but 2020 was nothing compared to the situation facing us now,” shares Armstrong on social media.
Armstrong have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for the business, with a goal of $80,000. Although they have reach are more than half of their goal, they are still calling on the goodwill of the public to keep their Sugar afloat.
Furthermore, over five weekends, Sugar will unlock their doors for a special fundraiser to keep the nightclub alive. These acts are both live and virtual, from a variety of Aussie talents which you don’t want to miss out on.
“With the generous administrative aid from our dear friends Crown Ruler, we are once again able to open for a small series of events, in our fight to stay open and return to normality.”
