Every year when your birthday came around as a child, it was unquestionable that Plaster Fun House was the party destination. If you didn’t pick this spot to celebrate, you were delving into dangerous territory.
Like clockwork when the weekend arrived, it was mini hotdogs, painting plaster and a disco party – the best day ever.
Now’s your chance to relive your prime cool kid days and party just like you used to. Plaster Fun House is hosting an Adults Only Plaster Painting Night this Friday, and again next Friday for the most rad evening in town.
The night will kick off at 6:30pm and run through to 9:30pm on February 25 and March 4 at their Wayville studio – think R-rated moulds, BYO booze and glitter.
“They can come in and paint whatever they like on the night,” Plaster Fun House owner Dianna Barker said.
“Moulds start from $5 and go all the way up to $60. It all depends on the size of the moulds they’d like to paint.”
From ceramics and magnets to all things sexy, you’ll be going home with a stunning piece of art to keep for yourself or gift to someone – but maybe not your mum.
Get messy while painting boobs with a wine on the side and, if you’re lucky, you might even get to sit next to your crush. Plaster Fun House has hit puberty and has grown just like you.
Guests are welcome to bring their own alcohol and clink to nostalgia. The no kids night means the hotdogs have been swapped for platters full of all things delicious.
“With the grazing platters they’re professionally made up and delivered on the day,” Dianna said.
“Guests can place an order and we bring them in that night for the event; they’ve got everything on them with small, medium and large to choose from.”
Dianna said the inspiration to host the adults only night came from demand.
“We were getting a lot of young adults coming in than children saying how much fun it all is,” Dianna said.
“Rather than being around screaming kids during they day, they can come in and paint at night time and relax a bit more.”
The adults only night has been taking over Plaster Fun House on the last Friday of every month for the past year. Dianna said it’s been a hit so far.
“People absolutely love it,” she said.
“They come for date nights, birthday parties and even work functions. We’ve had single groups who will meet there, and we do private bookings on other nights too.”
Plaster Fun House is located at 41 Goodwood Rd, Wayville.
The Adults Plaster Painting Night will take place on Friday February 25 and March 4 from 6:30pm-9:30pm.
