Ryderwear expands its Adelaide empire with a new flagship gym in Brahma Lodge

Ryderwear confirms its 10th and largest gym at the old Lodge Fitness Centre in Brahma Lodge, with a late 2026 opening.

Ryderwear is taking its Adelaide-born fitness empire to the next level, confirming its 10th South Australian Ryderwear Gym at the former Old Lodge Fitness Centre site in Brahma Lodge.

CEO David Lukic says the corner on Main North Road has always been special to him.

“I think it is an iconic location,” he says.

“That spot on Main North Road is a perfect 10/10. I trained at that gym 20 years ago, when Ryderwear wasn’t even an idea yet. I have a personal soft spot for this place, and I think we can elevate it to new heights.”

The new site will be the brand’s biggest yet, leaning into the culture that has turned Ryderwear from a garage start-up into a global name.

“Ryderwear started in my grandma’s garage when I was 25,” David says.

“We began as a men’s brand, then added ladies wear, and soon after started bringing athletes and influencers from around the world into Adelaide to work on marketing campaigns.”

What began as one small gym built as a content studio for these advertising and promotional campaigns has evolved into a national network of Ryderwear Gyms spanning Adelaide and Perth.

“The first gym was created purely for photo and video shoots,” he says.

“It was like a film set. People loved it, so we continued that trend and built more.”

“What’s been interesting is that we’ve never just replicated each gym,” he adds.

“There’s no cookie-cutter approach. The newest gym versus the first is chalk and cheese. Like our activewear brand, we’re always improving and progressing.”

Expect the Brahma Lodge flagship to raise the bar on the other Ryderwear Gyms.

“We have facilities and equipment that no one else has in Australia,” David says.

“I’ve travelled around the world, looked at the best gyms, taken inspiration from everywhere.”

When asked which countries impressed him most, he doesn’t hesitate.

“The Middle East,” he says.

“There are gyms there that are top notch and they spare no expense. When they look at building a gym, they literally ask, ‘How do we spend more money? How do we do the most expensive gym?’ It’s amazing.”

“We’ve curated our own training environment that will impress our members.”

Some of the new equipment planned for the flagship is still under wraps.

“This gym will have unique pieces that no other gym across the country has to date,” he says.

“What I can say is that it will be geared to serious lifters.”

Memberships will remain simple and flexible across the network.

“Current members get access to all gyms, including this new one and others planned interstate,” David says.

The retail experience will also be bigger than ever.

“There’s a Ryderwear store at the front of every gym, and this 10th location will connect the online and in-person experience,” he says.

“Customers can touch and feel the clothing, see members wearing it, talk to our team, and be part of the Ryderwear community.”

Ryderwear’s South Australian roots remain central to its story.

“Keeping true to who we are and our roots is really important to me,” he says.

“People often think we’re an American brand, but Adelaide is my home. This is where we built the grassroots of the brand. I’m proud and excited to start working on this new gym right here in Adelaide.”

David explains that the process takes time.

“It’s usually a two to three-year journey to get everything approved, and the actual build will be another 12 months,” he says.

So keep an eye on Main North Road as the transformation begins.

As for what’s next, David’s vision shows no signs of slowing down.

“I feel quite confident we can do 100 Ryderwear Gyms in Australia,” he says. “The sky is the limit overseas, but I want to focus on home growth first.”
