A new era of fitness is about to begin in Adelaide, and it’s arriving on a massive scale.
Derrimut 24:7 Gym is about to take things to an entirely new level, with Australia’s biggest gym marking what the team is calling a defining new era.
The colossal 9,500-square-metre site has been three years in the making and is designed to reimagine their traditional gym experience.
But this is not simply a bigger gym floor.
The new facility will span high-performance training all the way to hot pilates, built on a scale neither Derrimut nor any other gym in Australia has delivered before, with culture and community woven throughout.
“Ultimately, it’s the line in the sand in showcasing what Derrimut is about moving forward,” fitness performance manager, Ashlee Cooper said.
Across the space will be strength and conditioning areas, functional training zones, boxing facilities, group fitness, a basketball court and a dedicated HYROX training facility. There will also be an extensive wellness space incorporating infrared saunas, cold plunges and cryotherapy, alongside a nutrition bar, supplement and apparel superstore, showers and amenities.
For those who need to squeeze in some work around training or relax after an intense workout, a business hub will provide somewhere to sit with a laptop and settle in. Everything you could possibly need, delivered to you in a sleek, clean and purpose-built destination.
And if limited parking is your excuse for not working out, the facility includes more than 600 free car parks for you to choose from. Speaking of choice, you’ll have your pick of equipment too, with more than 500 pieces of gym equipment across the facility and more than 100 cardiovascular machines.
But one area Ashlee is particularly passionate about, is the dedicated women’s gym. The massive new space comes with its own carefully selected equipment, with a strong focus on creating an environment that feels empowering and welcoming.
“We really want to give the women a space here that’s theirs and it’s all about them.”
“All of the equipment we’re putting in there is specific to what the women want.”
The area will feature a range of machines including glute and lower-body equipment, with the entire space curated around the training styles and preferences of female members.
Alongside the demand for a dedicated women’s area, Ashlee noticed another clear trend that needed to be part of the new space and it’s coming in hot.
Literally.
The site will include a dedicated hot yoga and pilates studio, along with a reformer studio and group fitness room, giving every member plenty of ways to switch up their routine without needing to leave the building.
The sheer size of the facility is a major statement in itself, but the team says the new era of Derrimut is also about what happens beyond the workouts. Senior manager, Ben Whittingham said culture and connection are becoming increasingly important as the brand evolves.
“We are in a new era where we want to build that community and build a Derrimut family.”
At 9,500 square metres, with multiple specialist studios, an enormous training floor and a women’s area built with genuine consideration for its members, the new gym is shaping up to be one of Derrimut’s most ambitious projects to date.
And after three years of planning, Adelaide will finally get its first look at the big, bold and brand-new Derrimut in the coming weeks.
