South Australians can catch two movies for just $22 this September, as Wallis Entertainment launches a month-long deal across its Everyday, Elite and Boutique cinema experiences.
Running until September 25, the offer gives MyWallis members access to discounted tickets across Wallis locations, including two Everyday tickets for $22, two Elite tickets for $33 and two Boutique tickets for $44.
The campaign arrives after a huge run at the box office, led by releases including Spider-Man: Brand New Day and Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey. Spider-Man broke the US opening weekend box office record earlier this month, while The Odyssey has become Nolan’s highest-grossing film worldwide.
According to Wallis Entertainment, younger audiences are playing a particularly strong role in the renewed enthusiasm for heading to the cinema, with Gen Z embracing movie theatres as somewhere to spend time with friends.
“More and more young people are seeing going to the cinema as an affordable everyday treat to enjoy solo, with a friend, or in a group,” a Wallis spokesperson said.
“Raised on small screens, younger generations appreciate the shared experience of a film, which provides a natural catalyst for conversation and social connection.”
Wallis says the cinema has increasingly become a relaxed “third space” for younger moviegoers, offering somewhere to meet without the pressure of planning a major night out.
The experience itself has changed too, with audiences increasingly looking beyond the film to the new technology and upscaled environments that now come with a trip to the movies in 2026.
Wallis’ Everyday experience is its traditional cinema offering and is available across all of its locations, with the September promotion bringing two tickets down to $22.
For those who want to go bigger, Elite screenings at Wallis Noarlunga and Mount Barker combine large screens and Quake Sound with armchairs, couches and daybeds. Two Elite tickets are available for $33 during the campaign.

The Piccadilly cinema offers deluxe seating that lets viewers lie back and enjoy the movie.
At The Piccadilly in North Adelaide, Boutique offers Wallis’ unparalleled cinema experience, with intimate auditoriums, deluxe seating and food and drinks available to order from your seat. Two Boutique tickets are $44 during the promotion.
The savings come as another run of new releases arrives for September, including Mark Wahlberg’s By Any Means, Practical Magic 2, Resident Evil and Jacob Elordi’s post-apocalyptic drama The Dog Stars.
Families will also have several new options, including PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, Coyote vs Acme, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom and Forgotten Island.
The promotion is available exclusively to MyWallis members, but joining the loyalty program is free. Members can use the September offers multiple times while the campaign is running, alongside the program’s regular ticket and candy bar discounts.
It is another evolution for the South Australian family business, which has spent more than 75 years screening films across the state.
Wallis began by showing movies in community halls before becoming synonymous with drive-ins and traditional picture theatres. Today, its cinema complexes range from affordable everyday screenings to premium formats and Boutique experiences, with the broader business now operating as Wallis Entertainment.
