Rundle Mall is about to get a new destination for steaming bowls of hand-pulled noodles, with Legend Lanzhou Beef Noodle set to open its fourth South Australian location in the CBD.

The Chinese noodle restaurant is expected to officially open in early September, with Legend planning a series of grand opening offers including a free Signature Beef Noodle for the first 100 customers, 50 per cent off a second bowl and complimentary house-made yoghurt.

“We chose Rundle Mall because it is Adelaide’s busiest and most iconic retail precinct, bringing together people from many different cultures,” a spokesperson for Legend said.

“Our goal is to introduce more people to the tradition of freshly hand-pulled Lanzhou noodles and our Halal beef noodles, allowing customers from all backgrounds to experience the authentic flavours and craftsmanship behind this traditional Chinese cuisine.”

The new restaurant will offer the same menu as Legend’s existing Adelaide locations, with a focus on freshly simmered beef broth, hand-sliced beef and hand-pulled noodles.

Beyond its signature traditional beef noodle soup, Legend Lanzhou’s menu spans a wide range of noodle dishes, including braised and spicy beef noodle soups, pickled cabbage noodles, cumin lamb and beef stir-fried noodles, and several dry noodle options with braised beef, lamb, chilli oil and soybean paste. There are also cold noodle dishes and vegetarian options, while sides range from spicy beef tripe and shredded potato salad to dry pot lamb ribs, crispy prawns, beef rib soup and crispy fried chicken.

“At Legend, we’ve always believed that quality comes first,” the spokesperson said.

“Every day, our beef broth is freshly simmered using our signature recipe. We believe that a great bowl of noodles starts with a great bowl of soup.”

The store will also feature an open kitchen where customers can watch chefs knead, rest and stretch the dough by hand before pulling each bowl of noodles to order.

“From kneading and resting the dough to stretching each bowl of noodles to order, guests can experience the craftsmanship and tradition that make Lanzhou noodles so unique,” the spokesperson said.

More details about the opening celebrations will be announced via Legend’s official social media channels.

“Looking ahead, we remain committed to delivering exceptional quality and sharing the tradition of authentic Lanzhou hand-pulled noodles with even more people,” the spokesperson said.
