Adelaide’s vintage lovers will have a new reason to leave the house next winter weekend, with Second Life Markets returning to the city for a huge one-day-only event inside the historic Queen’s Theatre.
After visiting Adelaide in February, the curated fashion market will return on once again to bring together dozens of vintage sellers, local DJs, warm coffee and even a couple interstate stallholders beneath one heritage roof.
Georgia Metaxas, producer of Second Life Market Australia, said the team couldn’t wait to bring the racks, music and market-day buzz back to Adelaide’s vintage-loving crowd.
“We love the community there … every time we’re there, it’s such a vibe,” said Georgia
Designed for shoppers looking for a sustainable way to update their cold-weather essentials, the market’s winter edition will feature a curated collection of brands selling jackets, coats, knitwear and other seasonal pieces. Shoppers can expect a broad mix of styles and eras, as Georgia explained there’s retro, vintage, ’90s, and Y2K fashion, all up for grabs.
“There’s something for everyone at this market.”
Popular sellers including Pineapple Vintage, Medusa Vintage and Cactus Store will be among those setting up shop, alongside a couple stallholders travelling to Adelaide from interstate. Local DJs will provide the soundtrack for the day, while coffee and a dedicated indoor area will give shoppers somewhere to sit, warm up and take a break between browsing the racks.
The move to Queen’s Theatre is a first for the event, with the raw and character-filled venue providing a striking backdrop for the market.
“I really love the historical features of it,” Georgia said.
“It’s a building with a lot of character and the perfect blank canvas for us to bring the market to.”
Organisers expect the stalls to fill the theatre floor, transforming the Adelaide landmark into a temporary hub for sustainable fashion, music and local vintage culture. Previous Second Life Markets events in Adelaide have attracted more than 800 visitors throughout the day, and Georgia said the indoor winter format would make it easier for people to get out and enjoy the city during the colder months.
Tickets are available online starting from just $6, while kids under 12 enter free. Last-minute shoppers can also enjoy free entry during the final 30 minutes of the market, with limited free tickets available.
