South Australian winemaker Natalie Cleghorn to lead Beresford Estate’s next chapter

Highly experienced winemaker, Natalie Cleghorn, joins Beresford Estate’s esteemed team, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Beresford Estate marks the beginning of a new era by appointing renowned winemaker Natalie Cleghorn, as the company’s head winemaker. With more than 26 years of experience under her belt, Cleghorn is a force to be reckoned with, and her employment represents a major step forward for the highly acclaimed family-owned winery.

Boasting a series of prestigious achievements, Cleghorn has contributed her wealth of knowledge and experience to some of Australia’s most respected wine shows, with roles as both judge and panel chair. She was also a two-time finalist for the Australian Women in Wine Awards – Winemaker of the Year, and a graduate of the distinguished Len Evans Tutorial. She makes no secret of her eagerness to join the Beresford team.

“I am excited to join Beresford Estate and to lead its winemaking team through a new era of excellence,” says Cleghorn, who brings extensive regional expertise and has worked with respected producers Hill Smith Family, Katnook Estate and Mitchelton.

“The opportunity to craft wines that reflect not only the beauty of our vineyards, but also resonate with wine consumers from around the world, is very unique.”

Beresford Estate have been crafting award-winning wines in McLaren Vale since 1985 and have received over 2,000 medals and 200 trophies globally, and echoed Cleghorn’s optimistic sentiments, saying they are thrilled to have the winemaker on board.

“Having someone of Natalie’s calibre join us is a big step forward for Beresford,” says Nan Zhou, Brand Manager.

“She brings valuable experience across key regions and varieties, and she’ll play an important role in shaping our next chapter as we continue growing our portfolio.”

Cleghorn will be responsible for managing all winemaking operations across Beresford, with an emphasis on enhancing style development, sustainability initiatives, and strengthening the brand’s local and international presence.

The winemaker’s talents will certainly be put to good use with the world-class wines that are central to Beresford Estate’s success.
