If you’ve got a kid at home who never stops dancing, singing or flipping around the living room, there’s a crew in Adelaide ready to turn that passion into something real. Families are now encouraged to step into the world of performing arts as Star Academy opens mid-year enrolments for Term 3.

As the academy prepares to celebrate its 15th anniversary in 2026, Star Academy is inviting new students to join its community through dance, music, acrobatics, and creative classes, with a free trial class available to help families find the right fit before committing.

With a suite of ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary dance, musical theatre, singing, acrobatics and preschool programs, the school offers a wide range of pathways for children and teens to explore creativity, build confidence and form lasting friendships. And with 15 years of experience behind them, there’s a reason they’ve stood out among the crowd.

“Celebrating 15 years of Star Academy in 2026 is an incredibly proud and humbling milestone for our entire team,” shared Managing Director Jenna Boffa-Maiolo. “What began as a dream to create a supportive and inspiring environment for young performers has grown into a thriving community that has impacted the lives of thousands of students and families.”

What started with just a handful of students has grown into a major Adelaide performing arts school, with more than 650 students and a team of over 30 staff. While the academy has expanded from its original Grote Street home into a purpose-built Franklin Street facility, Jenna said its mission remains unchanged.

“While much has changed over the past 15 years, our mission remains the same: to inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of the performing arts in every student who walks through our doors.”

Mid-year enrolments are one of the most exciting entry points for new students and families, with Term 3 marking the lead-up to the school’s end-of-year production.

“Term 3 is the perfect time for families to join Star Academy as it marks the beginning of a new semester and the exciting lead-up to our end-of-year production. Every student who enrols for Term 3 will have the opportunity to be part of this special performance, which takes place in late December and is always a highlight of the year for our students and families.”

The academy’s approach covers both recreational and elite pathways, making sure students can pursue performing arts for fun, fitness and friendship, or train at a higher level for competitive and professional opportunities.

“Performing arts plays a vital role in helping young people develop confidence, self-expression, and a strong sense of identity,” said Jenna. “Through dance, singing, acting, and performance, students are given the opportunity to step outside their comfort zones, challenge themselves, and discover what they are capable of achieving.”

Star Academy also has a strong focus on supporting the overall wellbeing and personal development of its students. Alongside its performing arts programs, the academy has developed a dedicated Wellbeing Program designed to help children build confidence, resilience, friendships and positive life skills. Recently, the school celebrated wellbeing across the studio with a range of activities integrated into classes, while its student Wellbeing Ambassadors, the StarGirlz, helped create a fun and engaging atmosphere by offering free fruit and activities in the foyer to encourage connection, positivity and a strong sense of community.

With so many after-school activities to choose from in Adelaide, Jenna says Star Academy’s combination of dance classes, performing arts training and community focus is what sets it apart. And as it moves into its next chapter, the academy is inviting families to be part of its milestone year and experience firsthand why it has become one of Adelaide’s most recognised performing arts schools.
