Egg-lovers unite – Super Egg has opened in Adelaide Central Plaza, this week.
Brought to you by the creators of Ban Ban, Super Egg is an egg-citing sandwich shack that celebrates Korean-style street toast using local produce.
It offers an array of sandwiches on-the-go that are thoughtfully crafted using fluffy soft bread and toasted to perfection.
Super Egg offers options from Croque Monsieur, Steak Egg Sandwich, Portobello, Double Bacon Cheese to Korean specialties such as Unagi. All sandwiches are made to order, and cheese, bacon and avocado are always available as additional toppings.
The menu is a balance of comfort and innovation, with emphasis on their key ingredient, eggs.
To wash down your egg-cellent treats, the eatery prides itself on its artisanal coffee and handmade matcha lattes, which completes the experience.
Owner, Darren Song, said Super Egg was inspired by the parody of the chicken and the egg.
“I’ve always wanted to cater to the breakfast and brunch market,” he said.
“The egg toast concept at Ban Ban was very successful, so I wanted to open an Egg-based eatery, creating the idea of what comes first – the chicken or the egg.”
Super Egg also serves a selective menu of Ban Ban’s top eats, offering guests a wider range of options.
Darren said whilst eggs are the featured menu item, vegans are also catered for.
“We’re looking into gluten-free and vegan options for Super Egg … But we are offering a selection of the Ban Ban menu which features Vegan fried chicken.”
As for design and aesthetics, Darren believes that Super Egg will stand out in Adelaide Central Plaza.
The space is designed by Jensen Studio, the same interior architects as Ban Ban, Sky City and Sol Bar. Super Egg features a minimalist concrete design, inspired by Japanese architecture.
