Tame Impala’s Australia and New Zealand Tour POSTPONED

Tame Impala’s Australia and New Zealand Tour POSTPONED. Laneway Presents, Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring have attributed their decision to the ongoing pandemic.

Tame Impala’s crew have today confirmed they will be rescheduling their upcoming The Slow Rush Tour in December, having to change the dates for the second time.

Laneway Presents, Chugg Entertainment and Frontier Touring announced they’ll be moving the tour dates to October 2022, attributing their decision to the ongoing pandemic.

Tame Impala will be touring North America this month, performing their very first live shows anywhere in the world after an extensive delay. However with the ongoing changing local and international border closures, their Australian and New Zealand shows are on hiatus.

Current ticketholders have been told to hold onto their tickets for the rescheduled date, with those who may not be able to make the new times eligible for a refund.

Their live shows are now set to start in Spring 2022, kicking off at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Saturday 15 October 2022, with limited tickets remaining and on sale now for all 2022 dates.

One of Australia’s greatest musical exports, Tame Impala claimed #1 on triple j’s ‘Hottest 100 of the Decade’ countdown with 2015 track ‘The less I know the better’. The band’s acclaimed 2020 album, ‘The Slow Rush’ was triple j’s feature album on release, with the band recently performing their first headline show in ages in Chicago.

Tame Impala have also announced that rising local starts Genesis Owusu and Sycco will join them on the new Australian dates.

One of Australia’s most exciting emerging talents, Canberra rapper Genesis Owusu is a force to be reckoned with. His debut album Smiling With No Teeth is music in a league of its own, with the record gaining critical praise when it was released in March. Known for his multi-faceted showmanship, Owusu will bring a powerful live performance when he hits the stage at arenas around Australia next year.

Nineteen-year-old First Nations writer/producer Sycco is riding a high following an epic breakout year in 2020, with her hit single ‘dribble’  coming in at #29 in triple j’s Hottest 100 in 2021.
