The McLaren Vale Sea & Vines Festival is still one of our favourite events of the year, from massive degustation dinners to structured master classes, there’s something for you, your parents and your kids. One thing you don’t want to skip though, is checking in on what The Colonist are up to. Those sneaky scoundrels have been brewing up a great Colonist bus to take you and your best friends to the festivities at Coriole and Leconfield wineries in McLaren Vale.
Wake up a bit earlier on Sunday 11 June, enjoy some pre-winery brekky and bubbles in the Colonist and behold its raw beauty; with high ceilings, ornate copper roofing and original scenic wall paper it’s a welcome change from all the modern pubs you see around.
Hop on the bus at 10:30am to get driven down to the Coriole at McLaren Vale where you’ll enjoy the Sunday Experience. The menu includes Spit-Roasted Lamb with Tzatziki; Beef and Veal Meatballs, Skordalia & Pickled Onion Pita; Dolmades; Lemon Pepper Grilled Chicken with Chickpeas and Herbs and so much more – from Coriole’s own wine to Greek sweets from Pot & Pantry.
But wait… there’s more! After that, you’ll jump back on the bus and head down to Leconfield Winery to enjoy their Sunday Experience. If you’re still hungry after the Coriole food extravaganza there’ll be street food carts galore, and if you fancy whetting your whistle they’ll have Leconfield, Richard Hamilton and Syn wines available by the glass. Relax in the lounge and the garden or get your dancing shoes on and rock it out with Triple Score – arguably Australia’s best Live cover band. Triple Score mixes the best contemporary music with rock classics and a dash of the most current dance tracks, so you’ll always find something you recognise to have a boogie to.
Let’s be honest here, no one likes to drive to wine festivals, that’s why The Colonist have gotten this bus together to ensure you have the time of your life without having to drive home afterwards.
