South Australian rock icons The Superjesus are set to bring their high-energy live show to Adelaide Oval when they headline the 2026 Hostplus SANFL Grand Final entertainment.
The multi-ARIA Award-winning band will take to the stage before the first bounce on Sunday, September 20th, performing some of their biggest hits including Gravity and Down Again.
“It is really exciting to be performing at the Grand Final because there is nothing quite like the feeling and the energy in the air,” shared Frontwoman Sarah McLeod.
“It is one thing to be watching from the stands, but it is another level to feel involved and sans being athletic – this is the best I can hope for and it’s pretty cool.”
For Sarah, who grew up in football-mad Adelaide, the Grand Final performance will also bring back plenty of memories from her younger years.
Growing up a Crows supporter, Sarah said she was surrounded by football through friends and their sporting connections, before finding herself regularly heading to Norwood Football Club games.
“I followed Norwood because my other friend from school – Kelly – her husband Johnny (Cunningham) played for Norwood in the SANFL so we all went to Johnny’s games and then we’d party at the Norwood Football Club.”
She even recalls spotting actor Craig McLachlan at the club.
“I once saw Craig Mclachlan – he was just hanging out – and I was like wow, Craig McLachlan at the Norwood Football Club, Adelaide’s a vibe.”
As for who she’ll be barracking for this year, Sarah already has her allegiances sorted.
“I’m going for Norwood if Norwood get in, otherwise I’ll go for Glenelg because I used to live there,” she shared.
The Superjesus performance will be part of a huge day of entertainment and activities at Adelaide Oval, with the precinct set to transform into a carnival-style celebration for footy fans.
Families can enjoy free activities, giveaways and entertainment across a range of fan activation zones before the action gets underway, while the Thomas Seymour Hill SANFL Premiership Cup will make a dramatic arrival by helicopter.
SANFL Chief Executive Officer Darren Chandler said, “There is no doubt that The Superjesus will add to the spectacle of Grand Final day and it is only fitting that we welcome one of the state’s most celebrated bands to such a proudly South Australian event.
“We encourage all footy fans to arrive early and soak up everything on offer before the opening bounce. All the ingredients are there for a memorable Grand Final.”
The next generation of South Australian footballers will also take centre stage during the match, with SANFL Juniors premiership teams and the 2026 SANFL State Junior Teams taking part in the Parade of Champions at half-time.
And the celebrations won’t stop when the final siren sounds. The ‘Play On’ Afterparty, presented by The Advertiser, will return after the match, with entertainment from Fresh 92.7 and a live DJ set keeping the party going.
The 2026 Hostplus SANFL Grand Final kicks off at 2:30pm on Sunday, September 20th, with tickets available through Ticketek and free entry for under-18s.
Fans with a valid match-day ticket can also access free public transport on regular Adelaide Metro services throughout the day, with Adelaide Oval Express bus and train services operating for up to 45 minutes after the final siren.
