If you’re South Australian, you’re familiar with the FruChoc. Both iconic and delicious (don’t argue), the FruChoc has been produced here in Adelaide for over 70 years, and there’s no denying it should be celebrated.
Thankfully, FruChoc Appreciation Day is almost upon us.
Set to take place on Friday 23 August, for the eighth year running, Fruchoc Appreciation Day is a chance to revel in all things FruChoc.
From 10am to 6pm on the day, the FruChocs team will be at Gawler Place on Rundle Mall, playing host to a variety of fabulous activities for the whole family to enjoy, and giveaways and prizes aplenty.
Trick Eye artist, Anton Pulvirenti, will be unveiling a brand-new artwork, in which people will be able to have a photo taken of themselves immersed in a 3D FruChoc world.
The infamous Mr FruChoc will also be present, along with a collection of other SA legends, including Adelaide 36ers’ Murray Magpie, Thunda from Port Adelaide Football Club and Adelaide Thunderbirds’ Tori T-Bird.
As for the adults, Adelaide’s Big Shed Brewing Concern has launched a special limited-edition beer to commemorate the day: BruChoc.
This dark stout, with flavours of rich chocolate, peach and apricot will be available at the brewery’s Tap Room in Royal Park, as well as on tap in select venues across Adelaide, and in some independent bottle shops across South Australia.
Big Shed Brewery Concern’s Tap Room in Royal Park will be celebrating the launch of the new beer until 10pm.
The team at the three Menz FruChocs retail shops – at the factory in Glynde, in Hahndorf and in McLaren Vale – will also be celebrating, with 25% off all the full priced FruChoc range all day, as well as free shipping Australia-wide.
