Thomas Oliver Returns To Australia With New Single ‘Losin’

Riding on the success of his 2016 APRA award winning single ‘If I Move To Mars’ and ‘Shine Like The Sun’, Thomas Oliver is back with a new single.

Riding on the success of his 2016 APRA award winning single ‘If I Move To Mars’ and slow-groove follow up ‘Shine Like The Sun’, Australian-born New Zealand based Thomas Oliver is ready to stake his claim on 2017 with the release of his first vocalised full-length album Floating In The Darkness out this April. The next heart-wrenching installment from the multi-talented singer-songwriter, ‘Losin’ is the third single to feature on 2017’s much-anticipated LP due to be released worldwide Friday April 28, after which he will embark on an Australasian tour with dates announced soon.

Oliver’s latest single is a soul-filled melancholy number that touches on the loneliness of heartbreak, whilst simultaneously creating a sense of warmth and security like that of a long-awaited hug. With the warm undertones that have gained him huge international attention, ‘Losin’ is blanketed with a decent spread of soul-pop falsetto harmonies and a peppering of brass to create a simple yet undeniably evocative number that grabs you by the heartstrings and tugs lightly.

“‘Losin’ is a lonely song about feeling someone you love slip away. But it’s intentionally juxtaposed with a bouncy rhythm and sweet melodies. This is meant to represent being so acquainted with hurt that you hardly feel it anymore.” – Thomas Oliver

Having already released the world’s first solely instrumental Weissenborn only full-length album, 2013’s internationally acclaimed Beneath The Weissenborn, the renowned guitarist guru has largely self-produced, written and mixed the new album with a collaboration with award-winning producer and composer Rhian Sheehan on album track ‘Let It Be This One’ to make Floating In The Darkness an impressive and captivating body of work worthy of your attention.

Thomas Oliver looks forward to returning to Australia and will be announcing a run of headline shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth for winter.
