Practice your battle cry because you’ll soon have the opportunity to showcase it. There’s an actual Viking Festival coming to South Australia.

Set to take place over an entire weekend, the SA Viking Festival is a history buff’s chance to immerse themselves all things Viking, Nordic, Danish, and Scandinavian.

Born out of the Barossa Medieval Fair, the idea for SA’s inaguaral Viking Festival was born from a conversation between locals.

The nitty gritty details were parsed out when events coordinator, Henry Carter, joined forces with Victor Harbour local, Mystie Brook and members from a local Viking group to collaborate on the project.

Followed by months of research and plans, the event is now up and running.

“It breaths new life into an historic era and also gives SA another awesome themed event rather than just medieval,” a statement on the SA Viking Festivals Facebook page states.

While people of all ages are welcome, the date and location for the festival is yet to be revealed.

The event’s organisers are currently on the lookout for local food vendors, medieval traders, Viking craftsmen and other general stallholders to get involved in the event.

So, if you’re a local vendor and keen to get involved with this latest addition to SA’s festival scene, get in touch with the event organisers by emailing [email protected].
