Adelaide travellers will soon have thousands more international seats to choose from, with Singapore Airlines and China Southern Airlines announcing major increases to their South Australian schedules.
From 25 October 2026, Singapore Airlines will increase its Adelaide to Singapore services from ten to 12 flights a week, marking the first time an international airline has operated 12 weekly flights year-round from Adelaide.
The expanded schedule will add 1,328 seats each week into and out of the city, giving South Australians more options when travelling to Singapore or connecting through Changi Airport to destinations across Asia, Europe and the United Kingdom.
The additional services will see Singapore Airlines flights arrive in Adelaide every afternoon, as well as five mornings each week.
Singapore Airlines is South Australia’s longest-serving international airline, having connected Adelaide with Singapore and the rest of the world for 42 years.
Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox said the announcement was an important moment for the airport and South Australian travellers.
“This is amazing news from Singapore Airlines.
“It is the first time an international airline has flown 12 flights a week year-round out of Adelaide,” he said.
“Singapore Airlines has been an incredible supporter of the Adelaide market for more than four decades and was a ground breaker in providing South Australians with one-stop connections to Europe and the UK.”
The international flight expansion will continue over summer, with China Southern Airlines increasing its Adelaide to Guangzhou service to daily flights between 1 December 2026 and 10 March 2027.
China Southern currently operates three flights a week from Adelaide and recently converted the route from a seasonal service to a year-round connection.
Its peak-season expansion will add another 1,064 seats into Adelaide each week, providing more options for business travellers, holidaymakers and people visiting friends and family.
Combined, the expanded Singapore Airlines and China Southern schedules will deliver an additional 2,392 seats into Adelaide each week during the peak summer period.
Passengers flying through Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport will also have access to China Southern’s wider network, including connections to destinations across China, Europe, Japan, Vietnam and South Asia.
The additional flights are expected to support South Australia’s growing visitor economy, with travellers from China spending $390 million in the state during the year to March 2026. That was an increase of almost 28 per cent from the previous year, making China South Australia’s leading international market by visitor spending.
Visitors from Singapore spent $78 million in South Australia over the same period, more than double the previous year, with the increase driven by growing numbers of holidaymakers.
South Australian Minister for Tourism Emily Bourke said the flight increases reflected the growing international interest in South Australia.
“More seats mean more opportunities to attract international visitors, support local tourism and showcase everything South Australia has to offer to travellers from across Asia and the world,” she said.
