Adelaide is heading into a wintry week, with showers set to peak on Tuesday before a run of colder, mostly dry days settles in across the city into the weekend.
For the rest of Monday, Adelaide is expected to stay partly cloudy with just a slight chance of a shower, but winds will pick up through the morning as northerlies turn stronger from the north to northwesterly. The city is heading for a top of 17 degrees, with similar conditions across the suburbs including Elizabeth and Glenelg, while Mount Barker stays cooler at 15.
Tuesday looks set to be the wettest day of the week for Adelaide, with a very high chance of showers and between 3 and 8mm possible across the city. Temperatures will slip to a chilly 15 degrees after a low of 10, while winds swing from northwesterly to west to southwesterly by late morning, making it feel colder than the thermometer suggests.
The middle of the week stays cool and cloudy. Wednesday brings a medium chance of showers, though rainfall totals are expected to be light, with just 0 to 1mm forecast. Adelaide’s top drops again to 14 degrees after a low of 8, with southwesterly winds easing later in the day.
By Thursday, the city settles into a mostly dry pattern, though skies will stay cloudy and there’s still a slight chance of a passing shower. Light winds and a top of 13 degrees will make it the coldest day of the stretch.
Friday continues that run of quiet winter weather, with cloud hanging around and little sign of rain. After a morning low of 5 degrees, Adelaide is forecast to reach 14.
Saturday brings a small lift, with partly cloudy skies and a top of 16 degrees as light winds become northwesterly to northeasterly during the morning.
By Sunday, the temperature edges up again to 17 degrees, but the chance of a shower returns as winds turn northwesterly.
