Rostrevor has emerged as South Australia’s latest lottery hotspot after two players connected to the eastern suburbs community each won more than $2.2 million in the same Saturday X Lotto draw.
The two South Australian entries were among nine division one winners nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4697 on Saturday, July 25.
Each winning ticket secured an exact prize of $2,222,222.23.
While one of the Rostrevor winners has already received the life-changing news, the second ticketholder may have started the working week unaware they are now a multi-millionaire.
The first winning entry belonged to a Rostrevor man who purchased a 12-game QuickPick ticket from Adelaide Chinatown Lotteries at 18 Moonta Street in the city.
He admitted he was struggling to process the size of the win when contacted by an official from The Lott.
“Wow! Thank you. Wow! I don’t know what to think,” he said.
“It’s hard to concentrate. You have to sit down and stare at the wall for a while, just to let it sink in.”
Despite suddenly having more than $2.2 million to his name, the winner said he planned to continue working and use the prize to provide greater security for his loved ones.
“I’ll keep working. I’ll probably just invest to set my family up for the future,” he said.
“It’s a big bonus, an absolutely big bonus. I’m so grateful.”
The second division one entry was purchased from Rostrevor Pharmacy at Shop 1, 161 St Bernards Road, Rostrevor.
However, the ticket was not registered to a The Lott Members Club account or player card, which means lottery officials have no way of contacting the winner directly.
The mystery ticketholder could be a Rostrevor resident or someone who visited the area and purchased a ticket from the pharmacy before the draw.
The Lott is urging anyone who bought a Saturday X Lotto entry from Rostrevor Pharmacy to check their ticket and contact officials as soon as possible.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4697 were 12, 43, 2, 22, 8 and 6, while the supplementary numbers were 28 and 13.
There were nine division one winning entries nationally, including three each from Victoria and Western Australia, two from South Australia and one from New South Wales.
The latest results bring The Lott’s division one winning tally for 2026 to 215, including 19 prizes won by SA Lotteries customers.
The two Rostrevor wins come just days after new figures revealed South Australia’s top lottery postcodes and regions from the previous financial year.
