Adelaide-born David Turley and Eden Boucher, better known as Lovers Electric, are returning home to Australia for the first time in 3 years. After an extensive tour of Europe to promote debut album Whatever You Want, they subsequently recorded their follow up, Impossible Dreams, in the famous 400-year old Ridge Farm Studio in the English countryside.
Both David and Eden have had interesting journeys to their musical pathways – Eden grew up in a musical motorhome, trying her best to avoid becoming a singer as 3 of her sisters had already taken up music professionally. She instead pursued fashion design, running her own label Eden Honeydew (www.edenhoneydew.com) and designing all her stage outfits. David’s father was a well known poet; his mother a composer who famously wrote the theme music for South Australian favourite Humphrey B Bear.
Unlike the electronic, synth-infused sounds of debut album Whatever You Want, Impossible Dreams follows an 'organic pop' structure and a stripped back sound. First single, Beating Like A Drum, has already sparked interest with its quirky music video and joyous, unabashed pop sensibility.
Lovers Electric play The Promethean on Saturday, October 29. Tickets available through www.venuetix.com.au
