Adelaide weather forecast for Monday June 22 and the days ahead

Adelaide is in for a cold but mostly settled stretch, with frosty mornings, patches of fog and mild daytime temperatures through the week.

Adelaide is heading into a chilly but fairly settled week, with cold mornings, plenty of sunshine through the middle of the week, and only a small chance of showers before wetter weather edges back in by Sunday.

For the rest of Monday, the city is looking at a partly cloudy day with just a slight chance of a shower in the southern suburbs and little to no risk elsewhere. It will stay cool across Adelaide, with the city reaching 15 degrees, 14 at Elizabeth and Noarlunga, and 13 in Mount Barker.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny after an overnight low of 8 degrees, with a top of 16. It’s the kind of winter day that starts brisk and brightens nicely by late morning.

Wednesday follows a similar pattern, with another mostly sunny day and a top of 16 degrees after a 7-degree start. There is a little patchiness around the forecast, with morning fog possible in the hills and a slight chance of a shower about the hills and southern suburbs, though most of metropolitan Adelaide should stay dry.

Thursday stays on the cool and settled side too, with partly cloudy skies, a low of 8 and a top of 16. Again, hills communities could wake to some morning fog before conditions clear.

By Friday, there is little change for Adelaide, with partly cloudy conditions continuing and light winds holding steady. The mercury is expected to dip to 7 overnight before reaching 16 during the day.

The weekend then brings a slight shift. Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny with a top of 17 degrees, though there is a slight chance of a shower and northeasterly winds are expected to build to 15 to 20 km/h during the morning.

Sunday looks to be the most unsettled day of the seven-day stretch, with partly cloudy skies, a medium chance of showers and a forecast top of 18 after a milder overnight minimum of 10.

Across South Australia, the broader outlook remains cool, with below-average daytime temperatures expected through to Thursday. Southern coastal districts may see isolated light showers on and off through the period, while inland areas are more likely to be dealing with cold mornings, fog and frost. On Monday, isolated light showers are possible near southern coasts, while much of the state wakes to fog and frost. Tuesday brings a similar picture, with morning fog through the Agricultural Area and frost about parts of the Flinders, Mid North and Murray districts. By Wednesday and Thursday, isolated showers remain about southern coastal districts, with more morning fog across central, eastern and agricultural parts of the state. Rainfall totals are expected to stay modest for most districts, generally less than 2 mm across the south of the pastoral districts, Flinders, West Coast and Agricultural Areas, although isolated falls of 5 to 15 mm are possible near southern coasts.
