Eyre Way entered South Australia’s eco-stay scene back in 2022 with its first tiny home just 25 minutes from Port Lincoln, and almost instantly set a new benchmark for off-grid luxury.

What began as a single secluded escape has since grown into a trio of gorgeous stays, Yambara, Bandari, and Maldhi, each offering its own version of slow living on the wild, rugged edges of the Eyre Peninsula.

Meaning “away, out of sight” in the Bungarla language, Bandari lives up to its name in every sense.

Located high above the coastal cliffs of Sleaford Bay, this tiny abode feels like it’s been gently placed into the landscape rather than built on it, wrapped in native vegetation and framed by ocean views.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll quickly find out that there are no distractions here. Guests are simply met with salt air and bright skies, making it the ultimate peaceful escape.

Inside, Bandari is warm and earthy. Soft peachy tones, timber detailing and terracotta accents make it fit in perfectly with the surrounding landscape, while floor-to-ceiling views pull the coastline directly into the space. This minimalist luxury creates a feeling of space, light, and comfort with a whole lot of wow factor.

There’s a fully equipped kitchen, complete with a gas cooktop, a stone breakfast bar, a full-sized sink and all the utensils and equipment you’ll need throughout your stay. The bed is fitted with linen bedding by I Love Linen and Bed Threads, and with an eco-conscious Koala mattress that makes the space totally cosy.

Outdoors, things open up even further with a private deck, fire pit and open-air seating area. There’s solar power, gas-heated water and off-grid systems, which mean you’re completely immersed in nature without sacrificing comfort.

Just moments from Port Lincoln National Park, Bandari is perfectly positioned for those wanting to explore the Eyre Peninsula’s raw coastal beauty. There’s everything from secluded beaches and dramatic headlands to some of South Australia’s most untouched wilderness, yet even with so much to see nearby, it’s the stillness of Bandari that’s most appealing.

So if you’re a traveller looking for something slower, more intentional, and deeply connected, this part sanctuary, part lookout, part escape is the perfect choice.
