Adelaide weather forecast for Monday September 7th and the days ahead

Adelaide is facing a cool, mostly dry start to the week, with cloudy days, crisp mornings and below-average temperatures before sunshine and warmer conditions return by the weekend.

Adelaide is in for a cool, mostly dry week, with below-average temperatures hanging around for the next few days before sunnier and milder conditions return by the weekend.

Across Monday, the city is staying partly cloudy, with just a slight chance of early fog around the northern suburbs and a top of 19 degrees in the CBD. Light winds will shift south to southeasterly through the middle of the day before easing later on, keeping things fresh rather than wintry. For most Adelaide residents, it’s shaping up as a calm start to the week, with little to no rain expected across the metro area.

Tuesday brings a cloudier turn, along with a colder start. The city is forecast to dip to 6 degrees overnight before reaching just 17 during the day. Winds will stay light at first, then move southwesterly and southerly in the afternoon. While Adelaide itself is expected to stay dry, the cooler air and extra cloud will make it feel like winter is lingering a little longer into September.

By Wednesday, that chill deepens slightly, with a top of only 16 degrees under cloudy skies. There is a slight chance of a shower around the hills and southern suburbs in the morning, though elsewhere the rain risk is close to nil. Southeasterly winds are set to strengthen during the day, which could add a sharper edge to the morning commute and outdoor plans.

The pick of the week arrives on Thursday as sunshine returns to Adelaide. After a cold morning low of 7 degrees, the city is expected to warm to 19 degrees under clear skies.

That settled pattern continues into Friday, with sunny skies and light winds pushing the temperature to 20 degrees after a low of 8.

Saturday then looks even better, with mostly sunny conditions and a warmer top of 23 degrees. After a chilly run through the middle of the week, the weekend improvement will be welcome news for anyone planning outdoor catch-ups, markets or a trip to the beach.

Sunday keeps the mild weather going, although cloud is expected to increase again. Adelaide is forecast to reach 23 degrees after a much milder overnight minimum of 16, with a slight chance of a shower and north to northeasterly winds turning northwesterly. At this stage, any rainfall looks light, but it may be enough to take the edge off what is otherwise a pleasant end to the week.
